Bare
Chef Michael Carranza and I are not only creative partners but close friends. In 2025, he was named Austin’s Best New Chef and received a Michelin recommendation, setting the stage for his next bold venture. When he asked me to design the identity for his upcoming cocktail bar, I knew this was more than just another project — it was the opportunity to craft a brand that matched his culinary artistry. Bare was born as an elevated cocktail bar concept inspired by the refined intimacy of omakase dining. I was brought in to shape the visual identity, brand storytelling, and overall design direction, creating a concept that embodied minimalism, restraint, and luxury while celebrating mixology as an art form.

Sculpting the Brand Canvas

  • Visual Identity: A restrained yet powerful logo system and typographic direction built around elegance and clarity.
  • Interior Design: 3D visualization of the bar’s environment, balancing Pueblo-inspired textures with modern minimalism.
  • Collateral & Assets: Menus, business cards, and specialized brand materials designed to extend the Bare identity across every customer touchpoint.
  • Narrative & Storytelling: Positioning Bare as more than a bar — a ritual-driven experience rooted in cultural heritage and culinary artistry.

A Visual Symphony Unveiled

Bare became a fusion of tradition and modernity, bridging Michael’s culinary vision with an immersive design language. The final brand and interior concept stripped away excess, focusing on essence — a true reflection of its name.

Seeing the cocktail bar move into full production has been a true testament to my design work — proof that ideas crafted in the digital space can shape the atmosphere, identity, and experience of a real-world environment.
